I’ve finally had chance to have a think of what I want this blog to be about and I’ve decided to turn it into an art journal. I felt that this space was going to become too confusing if I crammed Cosplay, sewing as well as art all into one journal. I eventually want to make another blog for that sewing and craft related stuff!
Currently at this point in time I’m OBSESSED with my Digimon fan project: Digimon Faction. I’ve made pieces of art here and there on my DeviantArt page but never put the story down. Right now I’m working through character reference sheets and Digivolution designs. I’ve been having so much fun having a go with digital art and it’s given me a ton of confidence in drawing.

I’ve always daydreamed about my own Digimon story, or Digimon “Alternate Universe” if you will. And it’s only been the last year or so that I’ve solidified the design of my Self Insert character along with an additional OC. I didn’t even know that “Self Inserts” were a thing until I started delving into the Digimon fandom more. These are widespread across all fandoms in general.
The reason I decided to go with an S/I is because it’s something I feel authentic to. For me I wouldn’t have such a strong connection with the fandom, or my Digimon AU, if I just made up an Original Character that shared my traits. This feels more honest and upfront. However I changed the name because I wasn’t too comfortable with using my actual name. I also just changed a few features like the hair and piercings.
The addition of a secondary character just evolved from idea. I didn’t go into this with the intention of making an extra character in the relationship of my Beelzemon and I. Not only did I take inspiration from Beelzemon’s Tamer dynamic from the third season, but it also has influences from the Devil Tarot card; in which two being are displayed being in their situation, albeit sinful or right, by choice.
At the time of drawing this I wanted to use the influence of the Devil tarot card in a Biomerged Digivolution form of their Beelzemon, which I posted previous of my design of Baphomon. My version of Naomi’s and Zack’s (Biomerged) Beelzemon, Baphomon ♥ It took a lot of coming back to but after starting this, the design really evolved into something way cooler than what I originally thought of. I wanted to make this heavily inspired by the Baphomet as I’m a huge lover of it’s symbolism. Finding the right mix between the Baphomet and the resemblance of Beelzemon was an interesting challenge to say the least.
Character/Design Rundown
Baphomon (Beelzemon) From Baphomet, the Sabbatic Goat
Description Baphomon is a Digivolution form of a Demon Lord. Unlike Belphamon and Mephistomon, the Baphomon is the perfect equilibrium of power in the universe, uniting all opposites in the Digital World. However as a Nightmare Soldier, the Baphomon is vicious, and inherently cruel in it’s reign upon the battlefield. There are many versions of Baphomon with it’s appearance changing between each Demon Lord. Only when a demon lord reaches enlightened rectification with the keyholder of their sin, can they achieve the Baphomet mode. The flame between it’s horns is the symbol of this very enlightenment, and an indication of it’s strength.
Attacks
Sword of Mendes – Baphomon summons the Goat of Mendes pentagram with his sword and shoots a blast of elemental energy at the oponent. This type of element changes to become super effective towards the designated foe.
Templar’s Desolation – Baphomon shoots a blast of blood red magic from his palms. This is a wide range attack that burns nearby enemies from the inside out.
Solve and Coagula – This is a healing spell. It draws in data from the atmosphere and via the Philosopher’s stone in it’s third eye, and heals the wounds of it’s allies
First month into the new year weee~! 8D Hope everyone had a wonderful new year. I didn’t make any plans to go out into the freezing cold to club/pub cruise with hoomans, so! I stayed in sketching like any other evening. To be honest I haven’t been keeping in the loop with my drinking buddies as my depression has been going loopty-loo recently. I will be trying to get back in contact with the world when I have more energy and a grasp of what I’m doing this year. I just feel very self doubtful at the moment and question everything I do and if it’s even worth doing. I know what it is. It’s my brain, so I try not to listen to it 8D
Regardless I’m still moving ahead with my Self Insert project and their Beelzemon. I’ve grown to really love drawing him hence the constant art of him on my dA page, sorry-not-sorry. I’ve also been requested a couple of commissions from a friend for the D&D characters. So unheard of ;_;
My home/married life is still running smooth and my job is still great ^^ Since we’ve reopened the online shop orders were flooding in left, right and centre which is always nice! I like to be kept busy at work. MCM London Expo is coming up in may so I’m planning to put together 2 new Cosplays; Aiba Ami, Merei Mikagura (both from Digimon: Cyber Sleuth) and bring back a ready made one. Not sure which one yet though!

It’s been a quiet last few weeks at home. So without any sewing projects to make I’ve had a bit of time to revisit the Digimon fandom 😀 I’ve started playing Digimon: Cyber Sleuth and have been inspired to redraw my Digimon tamer self insert.
I have a whole description of the background of this character on my dA page here ^_^ I’ve been really enjoying drawing Digimon again. I’ve also switched up my style of art a little bit as I’ve been gifted a tablet recently. It took a bit of time finding a good art program and learning said program but I’m on a roll now.
I will hopefully keep this blog updated the more I draw. Hope you all enjoy in the meantime!
